This transported me to close, lovely times with my grandmother and mom, when we didn’t want anything but to be together. How lucky to have such amazing women fill our lives! I miss them so much, and “see” those small inscriptions from them often 💗
What a heartwarming tribute to your Aunt Marie! She is a larger than life character who left her imprint on you in a lasting way. I enjoyed the simplicity of this recollection. You look really good in those glasses too!
This is beautiful. I wish I'd had an Aunt Marie!! I will definitely be thinking about her when I need inspiration. I'll put her right up there with Dolly Parton in Steel Magnolias and all of the women in Fried Green Tomatoes.
You had an Auntie Mame!!! You are so lucky, Chellie. Both the movie, and now your incredible post here, is why I want to be that wild and crazy uncle. What a loving tribute to her. - Seth ✦
I knew and adored Aunt Marie. She was awesome - sassy, funny, and unique. Most of her glasses were bigger and more sparkly than the ones in the pictures shown here. She was the first of Chellie's extended family that I met when Chellie and I got engaged - I was on a business trip to California. And, I'd like to give a shout-out to Aunt Marie's then husband, Uncle Stan!! May they both test in peace

Your sweet comment made me giggle. She would be delighted to be in their company and she would fit in perfectly! I’m happy she made you smile. 💖
