I relate to this. Though I haven't had the abusive relationship with a partner you describe, there are many people, things, and situations have been involved in that make me think of the "prescribed-burn". I love that you ventured forward to see the damage and put some love into those trees that were at risk of harm despite the potential breathing risk of that moment. You are a sweet soul. We all need to give those healing loving comments, emotions, and encouragement to ourselves - and as we walk beyond the burn, we see our ability to survive. Thank you for sharing the emotions, the thoughts, and the imagery. It will be forever etched in my brain as a reminder. And as we move forward, I hope we all learn how to prescribe a burn and separate ourselves from the things and people who no longer serve or who disrupt our joy.

What an insightful and brave narrator! Thanks for sharing this experience. There are many toxic relationships that people are afraid to talk about, but every story brought into the light, opens the door for others to tell their stories!

Thanks for this 'peace' Chellie.

Indeed love doesn't hurt. thinking we are without love hurts but love doesn't hurt. Its only when we think love is not present in our lives does it hurt, (it always is) such is the grief of our lives. Nigel teaandzen.org
